Kanye can do no wrong.

Check his new video for “Good Morning,” directed by the man himself and illustrated by Takashi Murakami.

This makes me forgive him for the shutter shades incident.

Back from “Vacation!”

August 25th, 2008 by mcarter-rochester

Today’s my first day back to work from my mini-vacation! Here’s some crappy pics from my cell phone (cause I lost my camera charger when I moved. Oops.)

My vacay started Wednesday night when I saw Jack’s Mannequin @ Towne Ballroom in Buffalo. They closed with a cover of Tom Petty’s “American Girl!” You can’t go wrong!

Friday night it was TORONTO time! The Red Sox (my FAVORITE) were playing the Blue Jays all weekend long. I think this is the closest I’ll ever get to my future husband, Jonathan Papelbon, without a restraining order.

Of COURSE I went to Saturday’s game too (I’m a diehard!) This is the view from my seats. Along with my Target flats.

My hotel totally sucked. The room was small, cramped, hot, and the freakin fire alarm kept going off! (At 4:30am…awesome).

Last time I was in Toronto I was in a way nicer hotel…and this dude was chillin in the lobby.
His name is Franky. Franky makes me miss nice hotels with functional fire alarms.

Yonge Street is kind of the main street of Tornoto. TONS of shops, restaurants, and sweet abandoned buildings like this one. I could spend all day walking up and down Yonge Street.

I didn’t really get to do much shopping this trip…I’m saving that for next month when I go BACK to Toronto to see one of the grestest bands ever.

Meh.

Today is a blah day.

I need a good laugh.

This should do the trick…

Kasper’s Going DOWN

August 18th, 2008 by mcarter-rochester

The other night I went out to Tilt to see the Tilt-A-Whirl Drag Show and hang with Kasper for a little while.  While we were there, Kas broke some stunning news to me.

Starting Monday, he was going to quit drinking. For a month. Why?

“I just want to see if I can do it!”

So, being the caring, supportive friend that I am, bet him he couldn’t.

Here’s why.

Everytime you see Kasper out at the club, he has one of two things in his hand: A microphone, or a Heineken.

Kasper loves to party. Can you picture Kas being out at Tilt or Tribeca without indulging in a declicious frothy beverage? What about SUMMER JAM? What about the Summer Jam AFTER PARTY at Tilt??? No. Freakin. Way.

Here’s the bet: Kasper is not allowed to drink for an ENTIRE month. If he caves in and indulges, he has to be my servant for an entire show. I’m thinking pink spandex, an expensive lunch trip, sitting in on my meetings for me…

If HE wins (don’t worry, he won’t), same goes for him. I’m not worried.

Unfortunately, my confidence in his failure is not enough. I can’t be out EVERY time he’s out to make sure he’s behaving. (This girl’s gotta get up in the AM!) So…I need your help.

If you see him out one night drinking, snap a pic and send it to megancarter@98pxy.com . Together, we can bring Kasper down!

Twitter is talking online stalking to the next level! YES!

Twitter is like your facebook or myspace status on crack…you can send updates on what you’re doing by text message right from your phone. You can follow your friends, people you wish were your friends, or people you just wanna stalk cause you’re crazy and find out what they’re up to that VERY second!

Join up and follow me here! Crazy psychos UNITE!

A serious dilemma.

The Drunk Make Out

August 11th, 2008 by mcarter-rochester

I’m going to flashback to St. Patrick’s Day for a minute.

I’m at Daisy Dukes. It’s early in the afternoon. I had just gotten back from announcing the parade w/ Scotty, so I was obviously still sober…and incredibly entertained by the drunken stupor around me. (I’m still amazed at how some people can drink their faces off ALL day and still be drinking at 2am…but whatever.)

Anyway, the friends I went to meet up with were already pretty gone. One girl who was in our group, who I don’t know very well, was REALLY wasted.

The next ten seconds will go down in pick up line history.

This girl stumbles over to one of my guy friends who she didn’t know(who, yes, was also really drunk). She slurrs out, “Hey! You’re cuuuute.”

He then says, “You’re cute too!”

And then they proceed to MAKE OUT.

It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen in my life.

Anyway, I found out this weekend from a friend who was also there on St. Patty’s Day, that those two drunken messes are DATING!

I am SHOCKED. I have never heard of anyone actually making it work after a sloppy drunken make out. Do those things really happen?

I’ve had friends who have met a dude in a bar, made out with him, exchanged numbers, and expected them to call. Guess what? They never did. UNLESS it was after 2am and they wanted a booty call.

When you make out with a total stranger, do you REALLY have a shot at a relationship after?
